The MATE system consists of three components:

1. The MATEplate, accommodating six 35-mm diameter culture wells. It offers reliable culture maintenance in a standard-size six well configuration supported by the MATEplate.

2. The MATEbox, applying dynamic compression and material evaluation. The small form factor MATEbox fits in most incubators, and its surfaces are easy to clean. All mechanically active components are enclosed in the MATEbox minimizing the risks of contamination.

3. The MATEpc, controlling dynamic compression and material evaluation. For each of the six cultures, the MATEpc displays the applied compression and the resulting development of mechanical properties in real time.
